March is a huge month for the Nat Osborn Band. We’re incredibly excited to announce that we’re releasing a brand new EP at the end of the month with Ropeadope Records. This EP has been in the works for a year now and we can’t wait to put it out into the world.
We’re celebrating the release with a BIG Spring show at Rough Trade NYC, a gorgeous new venue in Williamsburg, Brooklyn.
Good friend and frequent collaborator Lyle Divinsky will be joining us and we’ll be debuting some new songs as well as playing the songs from the new EP.
Ever since I was a kid I’ve listened to WNYC, in my opinion New York’s best radio station. Every year the station holds a battle of the bands, with a bit of a twist- it’s a battle between the best bands in each of New York’s five boroughs. This Friday, March 6th, we’re competing with seven other bands to represent Brooklyn in the final battle on March 27th.
The show is at The Greene Space, WNYC’s live performance space, and it runs from 7-9. We’re the last band on the night so we fully expect to bring the house down after everyone’s been warmed up.
A few tickets are still on sale but everyone everywhere can watch live on their site during the show and after it on the Greene Space website.
We need as many votes as possible to get the honor of representing Brooklyn in the final battle. So please watch us this Friday night and vote during the show online or through text!
A few days after the new year began, I took the stage at Rockwood’s Stage 3. It was a very intimate and, frankly, emotional affair. I debuted some brand new songs, reworked some older ones, and played a rare cover or two. The amazing Grayson Dantzic captured the evening on film and I put his video of my cover of Bob Dylan’s “I Shall Be Released” up on YouTube. Hope you enjoy!
Nat Osborn Band Rockwood Music Hall November Residency
Last Saturday we kicked off our November residency at Rockwood Music Hall at the stage it all started it, the original Stage 1. We’re doing one show at each of the three stages this month and next up is Stage 3. Nat will be performing solo at this intimate, candle-lit venue in a reprise of the very successful show there in August. If you missed it, here’s a video from that night: “Half Assed Love”
The full band hits Stage 2 on November 26th, the night before Thanksgiving. Tix to both shows are on sale now:
Last May we played a show at the incredible A38 in Budapest, a former communist military boat that has been turned into a world class floating music venue. They interviewed us and shot the show. This clip aired on Hungarian national television yesterday, check it out!
Just got to San Francisco. Already over caffeinated on a $5 cup of single origin pour over and talking spirituality with a guy named Brent.
Friends, I’m in the Bay Area and beyond for the next few days. Seeing Sir Paul McCartney tomorrow at Candlestick Park. Major bucket list item being crossed off on my birthday <– stoked.
Friday night I’m playing a solo show at a Furniture Studio in the Mission.
Saturday I’m playing a house show up in Sebastopol, CA. Email me for info, address, and more on these shows if you or your friends/family/enemies are in the area and want to attend.
Sunday I believe I’ll go wine tasting in Mendocino/Sonoma. Any suggestions Cali natives?
