Music To Picture

From short films, to features, to multimedia projects - I love the challenge of composing and producing music that creatively carries out the directors vision.

Here are a few selections of projects I composed for:

Death and the Lady

Premiered by The New Yorker in 2022, “Death and the Lady” is a darkly beautiful short film about the end of life. This score called for a traditional French jazz cafe feel: violin, accordion, and guitar.

The Foster Portfolio

Danielle Katvan's brilliant and award winning adaptation of a Kurt Vonnegut short story about a man curiously hiding a fortune, inspired me to create a contemplative, moody and at times jazz-tinged score for strings and piano.

Avery, Offline

“Avery, Offline” dove into mid 2010’s indie pop music, featuring original songs and productions to match the modern Brooklyn esthetic.

The Exit Room

A 2013 Tribeca Film Festival selection, “The Exit Room” is a powerful and dark short that required moody, intense modern compositions written for piano and strings. This score was co-composed with Corey Zorn.

BANK OF AMERICA COMMERCIAL

This 2017 Bank Of America Commercial was aired in the lead up to release of Ken Burn’s Vietnam Documentary series to celebrate the bank’s sponsorship of the project.

THE MYSTWICK SCHOOL OF MUSICRAFT AUDIOBOOK SERIES

I’ve composed and produced the music for the wonderful young adult novel and audiobook series The Mystwick School of Musicraft. Each of the three audiobooks has a mix of solo and orchestral scores. The video below shows the New Jersey Youth Symphony Orchestra recording the first book’s orchestral finale. Below the video is a compilation of the orchestral scores from each book.

Here’s a compilation of excerpts from the three Mystwick books.
